My reflections on Microteaching

1) what kind of language I tried to review
I tried to do a interview activity -interrogative.

2) what the objectives of my activity were
I used a handout.

3) what new things I discovered about conducting communicative activities
I thought that students think some questions and then they interviewed to their partner. I wanted students to make the questions that they really want to ask their friend.
There are a reason why I suggest it.
Children don't have a lot of chances to use english in their real life, so I thought the activity have to be more realistic. If they don't know how to use english sentences in real life, they could not use it, isn't they? But I worried about students can make english sentences.

4) my overall reflection of my experience.
・To make japanese quewstions might as well make students' homework.

・I made a handout in japanese, it is help for these students who could not understand what I said. Handouts need to be conforn to students.

・I made one pair to talk that they asked each other, but I think it is better that some more pairs make thier conversation, becouse every students tried really good job, so I had to teach other students one.

・To say all instruction in english was very difficult. I could not say accurate one. It need sufficient preparation, becouse I can not perfectly guess what class going to do.

・Three questions are a little bit large for junior high school students. They take more time to translate what they want to say.

・If I want students to do this activity, I have to present a lot of example before, or I have to advice while I walk though desks.

・Actually, students are shy and don't want to talk in front of their friends, so I must to think some idea for it. I think it is important for other subject, therefor teacher have to make good mood.

Anyway, I felt Karuha, Emiko and Pizza's activities were really interesting. I got a lot of inputs from their teaching. Haruka changed students seat. Changing seat make activities easily. I think it give class variety. I realized it is great class that students study each other by Emiko's movement. Pizza's kaluta was so nice pictures. I think students interested in it.

My classmates helped me a lot!! Thank you very much!

Thank you for your micro teaching.
Your work sheet is great. It is easy to understand, and I was motivated by your work sheet.
However,if teacher wants students to do this activity, teacher have to present a lot of example before.I think so,too. It is helpful of students.
Your activity was so useful for me.
Thank you♪

Hello! your teaching is very fun for me, because I could write sentence as I like. But It may be difficult for children to translate from japanese to English.
So, It was better to give words as hints

Hi,kiki☆ This is micchan!!
Thank you for good teaching♪
I thought about your lesson,
◇good points
・Your smile was so cute♬
・In conclusion, you made a little time to announce for students.
◇improvement points
・I thought, the content of the rellon was too wide, so some students might not undestand and imagine well. Then, you had better give the examples in the worksheet.
Good job☺♬

Hi,kiki. I'm yuichi. Thank you for your teaching in the last class.
First, I could take your class happily because you were always smiling. Smile and passion is the most important things for teacher so I want to follow you.
And I could write questions because it was very gradual(Japanese→English). So your class was very interesting for me.Thank you☆

I learned that smiling and cheerfulness is very important to do class through your teaching.
I could enjoy the class as one student.
Also it is nice idea that students question to their friend, because they can feel English is close to them, I think.
I wanted to use this activity when I teach about qoestion sentence.
Thanks♪

Hi☆This is Naoki.
Thank you for your microteaching class!
I got some things which are important while teaching.
First point is smiling (this is written by other students too!).
I have seen your smile since we first met,but I learned 'smiling teacher' make students feel comfortable.
Second point was walk through the desks and look around and help to students. This is also importanat point for teachers to understand students to alter teaching way.
Thank you♪

Hello, kiki.
Your lesson was exciting for us. We could know our partner's secret. You gave an interrogatives "what, who and which and so on" helped us to make a question. The activity was student to student. I propose that students asks the teacher what their question. The attitude of students will become positive. They want to know about teacher.
Thank for your work.

Kiki,
Thank you for your good presentation. You smiled through the whole class. It was good and is important.
I wanted to know that what you wanted students to acquire. Unless you make it clear, student would make various kind of questions. One may make very easy one, and the other one may make difficult one they couldn't translate into English. So you would do better to show which interrogative sentence you want students to practice. Also, you could make a fixed form or an example.
It's just my opinion. Your idea that let studets make questions they really want to ask is interesting and really good. So it's for reference.

Hi,Kiki☆Your micro teaching i last class was interesting and very fun.Your idea was so creative.Students think questions that they want to ask,and interpreted Japanese into English. That is enjoyable for students because they can make fee sentences using phrases given by a teacher. But it is a little difficult for junior high school student,I think.
Thank you for youe presentation♪♪

Hello, Kiki!!
Your presentation was nice!! Your instruction was clear, so we found our next action. Especially some hint to making some sentences in English is on your handout. I thought it was very nice. If this activity actually takes place in junior high school, this hints will be useful for students.
I enjoyed to have communication with my friend in English. Your idea was very good! Thank You!!

Hi!Kiki.
Thank you for your micro teaching.
Your ieda is very interesting and creative.Pepattern practice is important for students but thinking and outputting some questions by themselves is important, too. Also, you always smile and your instruction is very clearly,so students could understand and do the activity smnoothly. You say you should give more examples or advise walking around.I agree with your reflection. You do so,and your ieda become more interesting and effective!!

I learned a lot from your teaching.First, you walked arround the class to see how students worked each other.Second, your voice is clear and loud.I could understand what I should do.Finally, you talked to students. It was good communication with students.Good job!!

Hi Kiki,
I enjoyed your activity and I think that it could work at a junior high school. I think that there are two things that you could do to improve the lesson:
1) You used a lot of Japanese to explain the activity. Instead of explaining the activity, I think it is best to SHOW learners how to do the activity and use mostly English. I am not against using Japanese but I think that most of the language in an Enlgish class should be English. Students need to learn to guess what the speaker is saying even if they do not understand 100% of what the speaker says.
2)I did not think it was necessary for students to write the question in Japanese first and then write it in English. I think that students need to learn to use English without translating what they want to say from Japanese to English

Hi! I'm Bu-chan☆
Thank you for your teaching!
It was understandable for me.
I think teaching is difficult.
When I was 3 grade, I did a teaching English plactice. Then I
thought so.
Your work sheet was nice! It is easy to understand.
And you make many smile in class.
I think it very good. Students can relax if their teacher do that.
Thank you!

Hi! Kiki! This is Wakame.
Thank you for your teaching. I think that your teaching was so active and your smile was so good. I think it is so difficult, but it can change the class's mood.
I think that students can enjoy making the questions, because it is their real feelings and thinkings. Students can ask their questions cheerfully too.
In this activity, teacher should help students enough to translate into English. Thank you!
